LP7 Is Finished. Finally.

It’s been ages since I last wrote about Radiohead but it seems there are now actually enough shreds of “news” to warrant boring you with another blurb about the upcoming LP7. The good news: Jonny has informed Paste magazine that the record is all done. This isn’t really all that surprising as Ed, Colin and Nigel were spotted in New York recently and they told fans they were in town mastering the album. Still, it is nice to know it’s done.
The bad news? Still no idea when it’s coming out and how it’s coming out as the band are still without a label. Will they resign to EMI for a one-album deal? Go with XL who did a great job with The Eraser? Something else? Whatever happens, it still looks as though it will be 2008 before we hear any new Radiohead.
It’s been pretty quiet on the Radiohead front the past few months. The only other piece of news recently has been about recording with music students. My guess is they added hand claps to 15 Step. How awesome for those kids?
To help tide you over, here are a couple soundboard recordings of new Radiohead material recorded last August in Switzerland.

In somewhat related news, Pitchfork reported today that Jonny Greenwood has produced the score for P.T. Anderson’s new film There Will Be Blood. See the trailer here. The movie will be released at the end of the year.
Even more unrelated…the rumours of Bjork’s upcoming Australian tour continue to make the rounds. This report has a tour happening in February.
And staying in Iceland, there is now a second trailer for the upcoming Sigur Ros film Heima. Watch it here.

Sounds like they phoned Bangers in, but Down is the New Up is a corker!
