J. Spaceman Acoustic Mainlines Tour

J. Spaceman, better known as Jason Pierce lead singer of Spiritualized, is currently in the midst of a “solo acoustic” tour of the UK called ‘Acoustic Mainlines.’ I forgot this tour was even happening until Drowned in Sound posted this glowing article reviewing the London performance at Queen Elizabeth Hall. The tour sees Spaceman on acoustic guitar accompanied by Spiritualized member Doggen on electric piano as well as a string quartet and a small backing choir. The setlist for the tour has been fantastic, including new Spiritualized songs (from the forthcoming 2007 record), Spacemen 3 tracks, and Daniel Johnston covers (links are mp3s! download!):

There are also rumours kicking around the Spiritualized community that Tim Holmes from Death in Vegas has helmed the soundboard for a recording to be released sometime in the future. *fingers crossed*
