25 for 2009: Eight
Album #8: No More Stories… by Mew
Once again Mew prove themselves capable of being incredibly over-the-top and bombastic one moment and then serenely gentle the next. Vocals soar, guitars riff, synths synth. This Danish trio continue to enthrall me with every release.

Song #8: Daniel by Bat For Lashes
This song might have made my Top 25 on the strength of the cover art alone; however, Daniel was a song I enjoyed immensely all year long. It sounds as fresh now as it did in March (due in part to fabulous production). But I think what really does it for me is Natasha Khan’s vocal – perhaps my favourite vocal performance of the year.
