3 Songs. No Flash. + Deloris = Friday Night

If you’re in Sydney and looking for something to do this weekend you should check out 3 Songs. No Flash.. It’s a rock ‘n’ roll photography exhibition featuring the work of three Sydney photographers, one of whom happens to be someone I know, Mr. Daniel Boud. He’s a great guy (even if the back of his head is in 10% of MY concert photos) and he takes some pretty damn cool shots of bands I really love. Amanda and I (accompanied by the lovely Tracey I believe) will be going to the opening on Friday night and I think all you Sydney music blog types should come out too. Say hi! Details here.

Also on Friday night, and what might make for a nice doubleheader, Deloris are playing the Hopetoun. For 8 bucks! Since both events are in Surry Hills I think my Friday night is now booked. I don’t know too much about Deloris, but a friend of mine in Perth loves them and his taste in music is damn good (if you don’t count the distrubing Roxette obsession) so I’m intrigued; the few songs I have heard I’ve liked. They have a new record coming out soon and you can stream the first single, Loup Garou, at their MySpace site. You can download some older tracks below:
From the album Fake Our Deaths
The Unbroke Part of It
O You’re Gone
Local Antarctica
From the Feather Figure/Elastic Bones EP
Feather
Spaces
See you Friday night!

Saw the exhibition on Sunday. Was still fab even without the free booze. OH! And you of all people can appreciate that Thom Yorke photo as much as I. If I only had a spare couple of hundred. Beautiful.
