Album #15: Embryonic by The Flaming Lips
I really disliked the previous Flaming Lips record so I wasn’t expecting much from Embryonic. I put it on for the first time without any idea of what I was about to hear and I proceeded to have my mind blown. This record may not be insanely good…but it is, without a doubt, totally insane. I am actually frightened to listen to it with my noise cancelling headphones. Thank you Flaming Lips for restoring my faith in your bonkers imagination.

Song #15: Consolation Prize by Julie Doiron
First up, Julie Doiron is a total legend. As for this song…well I heard it a lot thanks to CBC Radio 3 but I never tired of hearing that grungey groove. Short and to the point…something I always appreciate in a song.
