The Three Corners Of The Earth

Last year, Red Bull and BrainFarm collaborated on the most impressive snowboarding film I’ve ever seen. The Art Of Flight is such an impressive feat of digital filmmaking that it appeals even to those who could care less about snowboarding. The only way to describe the film is with the horribly overused word EPIC.
When the producers were sourcing music to accompany the incredible visuals they needed to find music as expansive and impressive as the vistas and journeys shown in the film.
Enter M83.
The film features a few songs off one of last year’s finest records Hurry Up, We’re Dreaming that provide such a striking accompaniment to the film that whenever I hear them on the record now I instantly picture Travis Rice launching himself off a cliff in Alaska.
In addition to the M83 material used in the film, M83′s Anthony Gonzalez also collaborated with the film’s director Curt Morgan on a song called Fire Shall Devour Them. The duo dubbed themselves The Three Corners Of The Earth and the song, while not in the final film, accompanied the first trailer for The Art Of Flight and it serves as the song’s official video.
Check it out below (hit the 1080p setting!):
The song is available on iTunes and was played several times this year as I rode Whistler’s bowls. Highly recommended.
