Final Fantasy (aka Owen Pallett; aka Violin Genius) will be makig his way to Australia for the first in December for the Meredith Music Festival. But of course very few musicians come this far for one show so you can also catch Owen at the following sideshows:

11 December – The Toff, Melbourne
12 December – The Vanguard, Sydney
14 December – Mojos Bar, North Fremantle

Tickets on sale September 12. Despite being Canadian, I’ve never seen Final Fantasy live (though I have seen Owen performing with Hidden Cameras) so I am pumped for this gig. Even if it is at the Vanguard.

The Sydney Morning Herald is reporting this morning that Neil Young will be headlining Big Day Out 2009. It had long been rumoured so let’s hope this is true. The article also mentioned Arctic Monkeys (yawn), The Tings Tings (yawn yawn) and My Morning Jacket as perhaps also being on the BDO lineup. You heard any other rumours?

As much as I love Neil, after last year’s debacle, I refuse to attend another Big Day Out.
