Radiohead In Rainbows Out NEXT FRIGGIN WEEK

WOW
Did Radiohead just kill the record industry?
The band will be releasing their brand new album in two formats starting NEXT WEEK (October 10). As of now, it seems there is no label involved and they are doing it all through their website. I think record company executives may be shitting themselves particularly if more bands decide to do this in the future.
I will have to get myself a discbox but sadly being overseas I won’t be able to access it till I come back in January.
October 1st, 2007 17:35
Ordered the box as soon as I got home from work.
October 1st, 2007 19:19

well pre-ordering the new rh album has somewhat abated my anguish over missing out on RATM tickets! did you end up getting tickets sean?
October 1st, 2007 20:56
tickets to Rage? wasn’t going to try. i’ll hopefully see them at BDO.
October 1st, 2007 21:29
I’m surprised people missed out on Rage tickets. I easily got mine (seated though). Then again I was clicking refresh every 10 seconds and instantly bought. Maybe I was just lucky…
Can’t wait till tommorrow’s BDO announcement. First time in awhile that I’ve had anticipation about the lineup.

Weeeeeeeee!!! Got my download done and done.
Shame I’m oh too broke and attempting to save up for all the lovely sideshows and things coming our way, to afford the box, hmmm although i could start dropping hints for xmas….

theres something ironic about me happily looking forward to the inevitable depression.
id be very interested to hear what people are voluntarily paying..
October 2nd, 2007 23:40
Can’t wait. Should be awesome. How tricksy of them not to even hint that the album could be out there much much sooner than anticipated…
I will likely be overseas during January, which means I can’t see either Rage or Arcade Fire. Boo.

Oh, hey guys, I’m currently partying right now at the Playboy mansion, and is using one of their computer room. Man, Hugh’s got himself like 50 computers in here.
I just got all the playboy playmates (yes, from Jan to Oct) to go on line and order up ‘In Rainbows’ at 10 bucks a piece. Sadly, November and December hasn’t been established yet.
Hugh himself also placed an order for the discbox, he bought like 30 of it, but W.A.S.T.E only allowed 1 per email. One of his personal assistant had to make up like 29 different gmail account.
Hey, Sean, Miss July says “Hey Sugar Daddy!’ to you. Umm, yeah, that’s pretty much it.
Fuck–g IN_RAINBOWS in 9 Days! Wooohoooooo!!
- Love, Ty x

killing the industry?
maybe. has to be said radiohead are in a particularly unique position in the industry.
October 10th, 2007 09:41
Unique position?
After wanking all over the idea of keeping their musical integrity, and fascinating a huge number of art-suckers and pseudo-intellectual uni students worldwide?
Yeah….they are in a UNIQUE position alright. But let us take “unique” as a connotationally neutral word……
Poor thom, if only he was as gifted a thinker and singer as he thinks he is.

Kurtis, if you cant see the beauty of their work, then I feel sorry for you. They truly are the greatest band of our time. Try to give them a second chance. You dont know what you are missing out on.
